SSL Protection (Deprecated)

Deprecated: You no longer need SSL Plugin if you run version 4.6.x that offers a built-in support for HTTPS. To enable it just open config.inc.php file and change http to https in RL_URL_HOME variable if you skipped the setting during the installation.

SSL or Secure Sockets Layer is a security protocol in the form of a certificate that can be installed with any hosted domain to secure connection between a server and a browser. SSL is an industry standard and is used by thousands of classifieds portals to protect their online transactions and transfer of other sensitive data.

After installing the Plugin and applying an SSL certificate to your domain your users will see a padlock icon with the URL showing that the page is secured with SSL and that they can send their sensitive information without any apprehension.

Flynax SSL Protection Plugin is a simple and at the same time quite useful tool for securing pages of your classified ads site. Technically the SSL Protection Plugin changes the standard protocol from HTTP to HTTPS. So, using the Plugin you can easily secure pages, from which users send their sensitive information like credit card details, credentials etc. The majority of payment gateways require their users (owners of classifieds sites) to secure payment processing pages with SSL. In addition, using SSL may contribute to better positions in SERPS.

The Plugin adapts HTML content of site pages, for which SSL is enabled, for correct operation of an SSL certificate transforming links from HTTP to HTTPS navigating to other pages of the site; it also secures with HTTPS loading contents of other resources like YouTube, Google Maps etc.

With the Plugin you can apply an SSL certificate to:

- Any chosen page, especially a payment processing page;
- All pages of the Account Area, for example: My Listings, Messages etc;
- Add/Edit pages of admin panel;
- All pages of a site user interface.

It should be noted that SSL is a paid service that is provided mainly by hosting companies for a particular domain for a year. Prices for SSL certificates vary from company to company; so make sure you can purchase an SSL certificate from your hosting company when ordering a hosting package.

IMPORTANT: Don't install the Plugin unless you have a valid SSL certificate purchased for your domain.
