Having a lot of listing types on your website, you often need to search for the right listing type or category and fill it with respective options and fields. The data entry plugin simplifies the process of adding multiple fields by importing them from files in various formats.

How it works

The plugin allows you to import/export data entries/field options in various formats, such as text, csv and others supported by the plugin. This means, that you may open a file locally on your computer and fill it with different fields one by one. Once you are finished, you may navigate to the admin panel, select the category you wish to import the fields into and populate it in a couple of clicks.

Back End

After installation, the plugin adds a manager to the admin panel. To understand how the plugin works and why you need it, let us assume that you have Bikes as category and you need to add brands and options to it.

The process of adding each brand and model via admin panel may be rather time-consuming, considering that you will need to enter each brand one by one and hit “save” every time you add a new brand.

Rather than adding brands via admin panel, you may open an excel/txt/csv file locally on your computer and fill it with bike brands, for instance, Stealth, Giant, Forward, etc.

Once you finish working on your file, you may navigate to the plugin manager in back end. When importing a file, you have the choice of adding it to an existing category or creating a parent one right from the plugin manager.

The plugin supports the following formats: xls, xlsx, txt or csv. Another useful setting in the plugin manager, if checked, ignores all duplicate fields or options, which you may have added twice by mistake.
