PayPal Advanced Checkout Gateway

PayPal Advanced Checkout Gateway is an advanced payment provider for classifieds websites that can be used to collect payments from your users securely and with extended options. Using PayPal Advanced Checkout, your users may pay both with their PayPal accounts or debit/credit cards, which will be processed by PayPal Checkout.

How it works

When a user selects a premium service on your website, he will be offered to pay for it via available payment providers on your website. Upon selecting PayPal Advanced Checkout, he will be able to make a payment by a credit/debit card.

Keep in mind that your users do not need to have a PayPal account in order to complete the purchase, PayPal is used merely as a payment gateway to process your customers’ credit/debit cards. Payment processing is conducted on your website but via PayPal servers without the need for the customer to leave your website.

Set up

To get started, you need to sign up with PayPal and choose either Business or Premiere account as only these types of accounts support PayPal Advanced Checkout. Once you have created the account, you may link it to your Flynax website and start collecting payments from users.

Fees

Creating an account is free; nor there are monthly fees, in fact, you only pay when you receive a payment from a customer. The fees vary from country to country and may be higher due to conversion of currencies when users pay you in currencies, other than US dollar. The standard fee for US customers is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.

If your business is outside the US, the fee rises up to 4.2% per transaction. If you want to get a commission based on popular currencies, we recommend that you check PayPal’s official pricing page.

Rest API

PayPal Advanced Checkout uses REST API as opposed to standard html PayPal form. Rest API is more secure and has an added protection layer allowing you to ensure safe payment environment for your users.

Works in many countries

As opposed to PayPal Pro gateway, which is supported only in US, UK and Canada, PayPal Advanced Checkout geography is wide and it works in many countries around the globe.

Webhooks

PayPal checkout uses webhooks method automatically without the need for the client to specify it.

Subscription options

PayPal Advanced Checkout offers extended subscription options allowing you to store more information about the user. Aside from one-time billing, you may create pricing plans and charge customers at regular intervals, your customers may either downgrade from a subscription plan to a less expensive one, upgrade or cancel a subscription right on your website without the need to navigate to PayPal’s website.
