Recently Viewed Ads

After viewing a number of ads on the site, users might start losing count of items they have already viewed. After browsing your website for some time, they may catch themselves thinking that they have already viewed a certain ad, which may be irritating and time-consuming. Adding listings they are interested in to Favorites is not a viable solution in some cases.

How it works

The Recently Viewed plugin gives users the opportunity to keep track of listings that they viewed recently keeping the listings that they liked or were interested in view. The plugin increases conversion and ensures that the buyer can return to the ad he was interested in with minimum effort.

Front End

After installation, users will find a box with recently added listings on your website. Upon clicking the box, they will navigate to a separate page containing the ads they had viewed recently. The page with recently added listings is essential for classifieds sites with a large number of listings because it ensures that users have the ability to return to previously viewed ads and always keep them in sight.

Back End

The plugin’s functionality is fairly straightforward, and therefore, it does not create a manager in back end after installation. However, there are some areas in admin panel where you can configure it. Firstly, by navigating to Basic Settings, you can either enable or disable the plugin. You can also choose how many listings will be displayed on the page with recently added ads. Finally, you may decide on the total number of saved listings, that is, upon reaching this number, the oldest viewed ads will be replaced by more recent.

As mentioned earlier, the plugin creates a box with recently added listings on your website. You may choose the pages where the box will be placed or check “sticky” if you want the box to appear on all pages of your website.

The functionality of the plugin allows users to synchronize listings viewed from different browsers and computers under one account. More so, the plugin also tracks history of viewed listings for unlogged users and when they sign in later, their history is added to their account. This ensures that every user, logged in or not, will later have no difficulty returning to his previously viewed listings.
