SMS Account Activation

It is important nowadays to keep your website free from spammers or scammers with unverified user accounts. If you feel that email verification will not rid your website from spammers, you may consider our SMS account verification plugin that ensures that only a user with a valid phone number will be able to access your website after verifying his account via sms. We have developed this plugin on the basis of Clickatell service.

How it works

The plugin adds an extra requirement to the registration procedure asking a user to enter his phone number. Once registration is complete, a user receives an sms to the phone number he had indicated during signup. The message contains a 4-digit code that a user needs to enter to activate his account.

The sms activation prevents a user from accessing your website unless he has a valid phone number and a code sent to it. This way, you may rest assured that a user will not be able to create multiple profiles with various email addresses.

Creating a Clickatell account

Since the plugin is based on a Clickatell service, you need to create an account with Clicatell and add an SMS integration entry. Clickatell covers 1,000+ networks worldwide. Keep in mind that Clickatell works on a subscription basis, so you will need to purchase a plan to be able to use sms account verification. After you set up your account, you will get an API key that you will need to enter when configuring the plugin in Flynax admin panel.

Back End

After installing and activating the plugin, you will find a plugin manager in Basic Settings in admin panel. The plugin offers several configuration options, allowing you to:

• Enable/disable sms account verification;
• Customize phone number field on listing form;
• Set verification code length from 4 digits and more;
• Enable/disable delayed verification;
• Set number of attempts to send sms.
